DT Day

Yesterday, Thursday, 25th May, we had our DT day. We made a rainforest in a shoebox! We used lots of different materials and we had to be creative to make the four layers of the rainforest. We made monkeys swinging from the trees, Arlo made a tree using lots of leaves and Jamaal made a river using blue felt. We all helped each other and worked as a team - especially when we had to tidy up the classroom! Miss Marsh and Miss Pinkess and all the Year 3 children would like to thank everyone who donated a shoebox!

Our Trip to Putney Heath

'First, we walked to Putney Heath. Next, we looked for branches that had fallen off the trees. We made a leaning structure against the tree. We then found lots of sticks and twigs and filled in the gap of the triangle. We gathered lots of grass and leaves and put them on top and sat inside. We took a photo and walked backed to school.'

3M Helping the Local Police

Last Friday, 3M had the opportunity to help the local police with their ‘speed camera awareness’ session.  When we held the speed gun it was cool!  First Miss Saffiotti took us to the police who had the speed gun.  We were given a booklet by Steve.  After that the lady police officer took one group and the man police officer took the other.  We each got to hold the speed gun for a bit.  There was an orange dot and you had to aim it at a car and it told you their speed.  It was amazing!  We had to wear a yellow jacket like the police.  Thank you Miss Rahmani for organising this fun activity!

Year 3 Trip to Kew Gardens

On the school trip day everyone felt miserable because of the rain, but once we were at school we were all excited because we were going on a school trip.  Once we got to Kew Gardens we went to the glass house, and if you were wearing glasses they would steam up!  In the afternoon we went to the play area.  After that we went to look at some plants, we found a banana tree!  On it there were blue bananas!  Then we went to look for more plants.  Once we had done that we went back to school.  It was a really fun day out!  Our favourite thing was the glass room.
