Year 6 trip to The Monument
On Tuesday, Year 6 went on a trip to Greenwich. We travelled by tube to Monument before taking the DLR to Greenwich (Mr Albinson made us climb about 100 stairs to get out of the station at Greenwich). Also we walked and looked at the Cutty Sark. We then proceeded to walk through Greenwich Park and up a huge, steep hill which a lot of us struggled to climb! At the top you could see the Greenwich Meridian Line. After this, we sat and sketched the skyline of London, Greenwich and Canary Wharf. Overall we had a great day!

Year 6 Trip to the Imperial War Museum
On the 10th December, Year 6 went on a trip to the fantastic Imperial War Museum. We first looked at two real Spitfires, which were dangling down from the high ceiling. Then, we split into our groups to explore parts of the Museum. Miss Watt's group (The Dream Team) went to look at a sculpture of a real life aeroplane which had been badly damaged."

Jake Meyer visit
On Thursday 15th October, Year 6 had the privilege to meet the mountaineer, Jack Meyer. It was absolutely amazing. He told us many things such as, the seven summits challenge and about his expeditions. Did you know that Jake has climbed around 200 mountains? Interestingly, the first mountain he climbed was called Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Kilimanjaro is in Africa and he climbed it with his dad. He found it challenging but he kept going. He helped us to learn about our topic and to understand how it feels to climb a mountain.
