The Big Pedal took place during the week of the 20th March 2017. On Wednesday, 22nd March we competed to see which class could clock up the highest number of journeys made to school by bike or scooter. Despite the strong winds and heavy rain, we managed to record a total of 194 cycling and scooting journeys made by children, parents and staff. The Big Pedal will run until Friday the 31st March, so make sure to keep cycling and scooting to school for your chance to win a prize! If you find a ‘Golden Lock’ on your bike or scooter at the end of the day, come to the Front Office to collect your prize. Congratulations to 3M Dahl for recording the highest number of journeys made to school by bike and scooter! You have won a free cycling session with Anna, our Bike It officer.
"Bike It" Breakfast
On Monday, 10th October we held a "Bike It" breakfast. Children in KS1 and KS2 who cycled to school were provided with a free breakfast which included delicious pastries, fruit, yogurt and juice. It was a great morning! We will be hosting more "Bike It" events in the future and look forward to seeing you and your bikes there!
“Peddle My Wheels”
On Tuesday, 27th September, Granard held a second hand bike sale. Parents and children came to buy and sell second hand bikes. We had a bike mechanic on site to make sure that all the bikes that were sold were in good working order. There was a great turnout! Thank you to Alper from “Peddle My Wheels” for running this successful event.
