"Growing together; Achieving together"

Assessment

Pupils at The Cedar Base are continually assessed, focussing on their existing skills and then identifying their next steps. Given our cohort's needs it is key that we consider stages of development and a range of evidence to find the best way to accurately capture and report on the progress and achievement of our pupils.

Progress and attainment in English, Mathematics, Communication, Social, Emotional and Behavioural Development are all recorded. In addition, outcomes from annual reviews are also monitored and reviewed regularly. Given the need to assess using small steps, we use 'Connecting Steps' to record progress and attainment.  Alongside this, staff use the platform ‘Evisense’ to evidence observations and assessments through photos, videos and written observations made by their class team.
