Welcome to Rowan Class!
Rowan Class is a foundation class for children in Early Years and Key Stage 1. It is a nurturing environment where every child’s individuality is celebrated.
Our curriculum has a strong focus on embedding children’s interest’s and providing opportunities to learn both in the classroom and in our wonderful outdoor areas. Day to day provision embeds therapeutic strategies, particul21/04/2017arly through adopting a total communication approach, which includes, visuals, objects, Makaton and colourful semantics.
Core teaching adopts Attention Autism approaches and we build on children’s attention skills throughout the year. As the children’s engagement grows, there are opportunities to take turns, manage disappointment and increase resilience.
Children access learning with their whole class, in small groups or working one to one with an adult.
Rowan Class is a calm and welcoming learning environment with a balance of structure and play that suits the needs of our cohort.
